What I’m Thankful for: Horror Edition Part 2

It’s almost my favorite day of the year…Thanksgiving. Not all of the family will be at the house this year. We’ll be missing my sister and brother-in-law, but I’ll still have 16 of my loved ones all under the same roof. Cooking for this many is a lot of work, but I still love hosting this celebration.

Last week, the planning of this huge dinner was just a label for a new board on Pinterest. Today I type Part 2 of my thankful post with the aroma of pecan pie swirling in the air. Yum!

What I’m Thankful for:

6.  The CW

I know last week I gave a shout out for the Winchester brothers, but there are a few others I must watch every week. I have to show love for The Vampire Diaries, The Originals, The Flash, and my love for Mr. Stephen Amell in The Arrow is no secret!

7.  Anne Rice

Without Lestat, there would have been no Edward, no Spike or Angel. Published in 1979, Interview with a Vampire truly brought vampires into the mainstream. Anne Rice is still a powerful force, recently releasing a new novel.

8.  Zombies

The Walking Dead–which I CANNOT miss on Sunday nights–is just one way I get my zombie fix. One of my favorite zombie book series, written by Jonathan Maberry, is the Benny Imura series. This writer knows how to write about the end of the world! Lastly, there is the book that became important because of the movie…you guessed it! Warm Bodies!

9.  The Internet

It can be such a time sucker, but when used for good and not evil so much can be accomplished. I’ve entered my writing in contests, met my critique partners, and made a ton of connections online. Then there’s this incredible thing called YouTube. Not only can you create and upload videos, but there are now movie’s created just for YouTube–not unlike Netflix. One such example is Rachel Caine’s Morganville Vampires. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, check this out. Go on. I’ll wait…

Cool, right?

10.  The Midnight Society

Without these fabulous creatures, I wouldn’t have found a home for all my oddities. They have welcomed me into their graveyard family, full of the undead. Anytime I come up with an idea for a post, it’s always met with such a positive energy. And just to think, one little tweet from Jolene brought us together. You are all so cool and creative, I am thankful to be surrounded by such scary chics! HUGS!!!

I wish each and everyone of our readers a happy holiday!
