Online Collaboration: hitRECord

I happened on a video one day while trolling through Facebook. Joseph Gordon-Levitt (love him by the way) has created an online collaborative production company; one that is begging for writers, editors, artist, and musicians to come together and create.

HOW COOL IS THIS?

Not only is this a TV show, but also an online community. All you writers out there can participate in the Weekly Writing Challenge! Want a taste of the prompts? Here’s WEEK 35’s CHALLENGE: Write a comedy story about a person who becomes non-human. *The Deadline for Week 35’s Challenge is Monday, June 15th. Want to join in the fun? Click here.

The theme of the first episode I watched was RE: The Dark, which I found very suitable for our followers.

FULL EPISODE: HIT RECORD ON TV W/JOSEPH GORDON-LEVITT S2 premiereSo here it is, Ladies and Gentlemen, the first episode of Season 2 of Hit Record On TV! As you might or might not know, every episode of our variety show has a theme, and this episode’s theme is RE: THE DARK. So there’s a darkly animated short film where bullies are personified as wolves and a juicebox makes a bloody metaphor; there’s a dark comedy written by Mindy Kaling starring her, Chris Messina (my dance partner) and me; there’s a dark ritual of a song that a bunch of us sang, danced, and shot around a fire in the middle of the night out in the woods; and tons of other little bits and bops, musings, musics, and magicks.Over 18,000 contributions came into hitRECord.org just for this one episode, and really throughout this whole season, the hitRECord community has put so much hard work and genuine care into making the myriad of records resplendent in each show. To every single RECorder, please accept my sincere gratitude. You don’t have to have seen Season 1. And you don’t have to have contributed (but it’s really fun if you wanna try!). Just sit back, and enjoy the show! Thanks again <3J
