Where NOT to Stay

Summertime is a great time for travel! The weather is warm, maybe you’ve got kids out of school… pack your bags, hit the road, it’s time to take a trip!

The world is a big place. So many places to see. May I suggest you go pretty much anywhere

EXCEPT HERE:

The Clown Motel.

No, seriously, there is a clown motel. It’s a motel, in the desert, with a clown theme, and it’s haunted by clowns.

Also, it’s built next to an old cemetery which is the final resting place of hundreds of  miners who died from the plague. I know… are you thinking what I’m thinking?? PERFECT PICNIC LOCALE!

I’m not kidding about any of this. Even assuming you don’t have a severe case of coulrophobia (fear of clowns), this place doesn’t seem to be the most, uh, soothing establishment you could find.

The motel is located in Tonopah, NV, which doesn’t seem to be a town near, well, anything.

One report I read said that the motel is haunted by “hundreds of clowns”, but the only specific story I could find dealt with one motel patron looking out a motel room window and spying a grinning clown with its pants down making sweet, sweet love to a dinner ham.

Clown, sex, ham.

I… am still not kidding.

(Creepy mental image aside, I question the logistics of this scenario.)

Should this actually sound like the perfect vacation for you and your loved ones, Clown Motel– surprisingly– has some really decent reviews on TripAdvisor.

Gas up the car and go! And send me pics. And, y’know, maybe stay away from ham?

I don’t usually get freaked out writing things, but this did it. I was actually too weirded out to sleep last night.

Oh my gosh. I’ve been writing this story and there’s a small element of undead mice. I shiver just thinking about it. Could not sleep, wanted to cry. I ruin my own life.

This would be a unique nights stay to say the least ! The cemetery intrigues me and would like to see for myself if the clown motel is haunted.
