When I first heard about The Alienist, I wasn’t interested in watching it. I thought it would be about aliens and be a science fiction show. I wasn’t interested in that, but when iTunes had episode 1 for free, I couldn’t help but check it out. That’s when, with the opening, I discovered the true meaning of an alienist.
Alienist- In the 19th century, the mentally ill were thought to be alienated from their own nature. Experts who studied them were know as alienists.
This was enough to suck me in.
This new TNT thriller revolves around a serial killer who prays on male prostitutes in New York City. The gruesome deaths are captured by a newspaper illustrator.
This is right up a horror writer’s alley and definitely worth the cost to purchase and watch. Enjoy!!
