Lights Out – A Spooky Short from the Who’s There Film Challenge

I love being scared. Though I love to read scary books, seeing a scary movie unravel on a screen is one of my favorite things to do.

This weekend my best friend Johanna Banana told me that she had a short video I just had to see. Banana is my usual scary movie partner in crime. We watch scary movies together. We hide under blankets on the couch. And we scream appropriately during really scary moments.

The gleam in Banana’s eyes when she told me she had something for me to see, told me it was something awesome. And I was right.

Apparently there was a competition to make a scary short film over at bchorrorchallenge.com. There are several awards given out, such as Best Director, First Place Film, Best Editing, Best Effects, etc. Definitely check out their website and the multitude of amazing submissions. The winning video from 2013 is a film short called Play Time.

The one Banana shared with me, Lights Out, won the Best Director award.

So turn the lights down low and hit play.

I jumped, I swore out loud. Ah! That was GOOD! *flails* I’ll never sleep again. *turns on all the lights* Not that that will help. We’re all going to DIE!

Bahahaha! Sorry Kathy! I jumped too. It was perfect though. Right when I thought I was in the clear…
