There are three different book festivals / conferences that I haven’t been to that I am dying to attend.
The 2nd is SCBWI (but we’re not talking about that right now either).
The one I really want to attend is Thrillerfest.
Now, I know this is a horror blog but thriller and horror novels are very interrelated. In fact, most of my early R.L. Stine books have them listed as YA thrillers, not YA horror novels. Horror and thriller books and movies can be viewed as very similar. We’ll discuss the difference in another post sometime but for now, let’s just rejoice in this general convention of awesome.
ThrillerFest will be held this year on July 8 – 12, 2014 in New York City (you guys get all the good stuff). ThrillerFest is the annual conference of the International Thriller Writers.
There are a million and one featured authors attending including Anne Rice, R.L. Stine, Brenda Novak, Scott Turow, Michael Connelly, Heather Graham, and more. To see a list of authors, click here.
What Do You Do At ThrillerFest?
There are a multitude of different things to do at ThrillerFest, such as intensive workshops on writing, talks on writing secrets from the pros, pitch sessions to pitch to literary agents, panels of authors, lectures, and even a banquet.
Don’t mind me, I’ll be over here salivating in the corner and wishing that I could attend.
Are you going to ThrillerFest? Have you been before? Let me know in the comments below!
