Announcing The Midnight Matron of All Hallow’s Eve!

The month of October is a special one! Besides the obvious Halloween answers, this month is the first month were rolling out the honor of Midnight Matron!

What the heck is Midnight Matron?

The Midnight Society’s Midnight Matron is a member of the Midnight Society team. He or she is someone that goes above and beyond to contribute to the Midnight Society, to our readers, and embraces the wonders of macabre like no other.

That’s great but…what does this mean?

The Midnight Matron get’s to resign supreme over the following month. This means that our October Midnight Matron will reign as Matron over November. In December, a new Midnight Matron will be chosen. In addition to bragging rights and reigning supreme, The Midnight Matron also receives a $20 gift card to Amazon, Barnes and Noble, or any other e-gift card location of their choosing.

Announcing The Midnight Matron of All Hallow’s Eve

The Midnight Matron of All Hallow’s Eve is wonderful. She’s helped run our social media accounts, somehow managed to be 100% dedicated in addition to ALL OF THE THINGS.

She did some fantastic posts during the month of October, including running a fear contest.

She also interviewed fab authors Lindsay Currie and Trisha Leaver! Check it out here!

She ran a spooky poetry contest AND interviewed the amazing S.P. McConnell. You can check it out here.

Then, in one of my favorite posts ever, she did an AMAZING post where she paired drinks with horror books by Jonathan Maberry.

She’s a fantastic writer, a cheerleader for authors, and if you have a moment to talk to her, you can see that she’s freakin’ hilarious! She honestly AMAZES me with all that she does. She inspires me to work harder, play harder, and always keep my wits about me.

She embodies all that is good, while managing to channel the darkest depths of the shadows of The Midnight Society.

Without further ado…

CONGRATULATIONS Amy!

You are our Midnight Matron!

Amy G.

Here lies the body of Amy Giuffrida, who even in death is channeling Buffy the Vampire Slayer and wishes to haunt The Winchester Boys. By joining The Midnight Society, she met her demise.

As a writer, Amy took chances by shining a broken flashlight into the darkest corners of her mind.  As a blogger and obsessive tweeter, she shared her love of reading and writing with the world.

At the time of her death, Amy was working on her latest novel, Curse of Crows.

In life, she thought of herself as a perpetual 8th grader—taught this grade for many years—and could often be found talking about the latest novels to teens, encouraging them to read.

When she wasn’t writing or teaching, she could be found hanging with her family or walking her puppy Sera. Some of her favorite books were Charlotte’s WebLooking for AlaskaIt, and The Wicked Lovely series.

A wake will be held at the secret hangout of The Midnight Society on Tuesdays.

At the request of the deceased, Amy’s ashes will be spread:
