Christmas Midnight Society Movie Night: Gremlins and Krampus

Tis the season for happiness and lights and love and…horror! You betcha. I shall continue my tradition of live-tweeting two movies this month, because Christmas time demands it. For a special Midnight Society Movie nights, let’s watch Gremlins and Krampus. There’s nothing like Christmas horror. Even the season of hope has a dark side.

First, let’s watch the chaos unfold as rules are broken and terror invades a town in Gremlins.

This 1984 film written by Chris Columbus and directed by Joe Dante delighted me as a child. From adorable Gizmo to terrifying Stripe, a fun romp through the season of giving, the story of Gremlins begins with a gift.

Deadly shenanigans ensue. If only Billy hadn’t gotten his new fuzzy present wet or fed them after midnight.

Join me Thursday, December 12th at 9 pm EST on Twitter on #MidnightSocietyMovieNight #Gremlins. Watch with me or enjoy my many tweets!

Next…Krampus.

Poster for 2015 movie Krampus

This 2015 film written and directed by Michael Dougherty and co-written by Todd Casey and Zach Shields shares the dark side of the spirit of Christmas, for those who forget how to keep the joy of the season in their hearts. I took myself to the theater to see this and was not disappointed. Creepy. Funny. Sad. People running and screaming. A killer Teddy bear and a people-eating Jack-in-the-Box. All wrapped up in a holiday message. How can you say no?

Run to Twitter on Thursday, December 19th at 9 pm EST on #MidnightSocietyMovieNight #KrampusMovie to laugh and shudder at the wondrous night of Christmas presents, elves, and gingerbread men.

Come celebrate the season with me with two fun and terrifying movies.

Cheers and nightmares,

Kathy
