A Wonderful Time of Year for Christmas Horror Films

I love watching movies. I have special fondness for Christmas movies of all kinds. Lately, I've been hitting Netflix hard for cheesy holiday films. Now it's time to add in a few horror flicks into the rotation. If you do a search online for "Horror Christmas Movies," quite a few come up. Some are very slasheresque--what with a lot of blood and scantily clothed women.  These aren't really my cup of tea. I do like some substance to my horror and trust me, there are a ton of amazing choices. Although I've chosen just a few, I hope to discover more to share with you[...]

Twas the Night Before….

Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house Not a creature was stirring, not even my spouse. You see, they were naughty, horrible brats And something was scurrying about aside from the rats.   When out on the lawn something landed with a splatter, So I sprang from the bed to see a sleigh shatter. Away from the window I flew like the Flash, To[...]

Let’s Watch Horror Movies…Christmas Edition

I love horror movies! I love to live-tweet them too! Once a month, precious, I tweet all my thoughts and feelings as I watch a scary movie. I didn't know how much fun it would be. To be able to watch it with others makes it more fun. Through Twitter, we can connect over our love of the creepy. Last month my horror friend Andrea and I had a BLAST live-tweeting the movie Lights Out. Neither one of us had seen it, so it was a lot of great first reactions. I haven't been so scared watching a movie in a loooooong time. I held my breath through most of it, but you bette[...]

A Very Macabre Christmas

I love Christmas. But I love the idea of a gothic Christmas more. When Nightmare Before Christmas became a thing, it spurred a ton of fantastic, whimsical, dark Christmas celebrations that I adore. Most of you know that I'm a huge Pinterest and page 20 Google digger so I wanted to share with you all, a few of my favorite macabre Christmas decorating ideas for the holidays. If you don't celebrate Christmas, I think most of these ideas can easily be tweaked to reflect what you are celebrating. Found here. Found here. Found here. Found here. Found[...]

Holly Horror Christmas

Are things getting a little too... holly jolly around your neck of the woods? I love the holidays and queue up Christmas movies like I've been waiting all year, but man, some of those decorations are just a little too pristine for my tastes. If there is any holiday that's creepy, it's Christmas. Some old dude creeps around in your house and leaves things under a tree? Strangers knock on your door and sing at you? It's begging for some more in depth horror story treatment, I'm telling you. I've compiled a little Pinterest Board of Holly Horror, with the best wreat[...]
