Being that Valentine’s day is this weekend and our theme this week on the Midnight Society is Til Death Do Us Part (Romance in Horror), I wanted to talk about some of my absolutely favorite spooky couples from movies. And then I want to hear from you. Which spooky couple is your favorite?

There is not much that I love in the world, more than horror. But I do love romance and horror.

Casper

Some of their lines and moments were just too good. Plus, I may or may not have had a huge thing for Devon Sawa.

Jack and Sally

Nightmare Before Christmas

I think it’s arguably one of the best movies out there. A love story. A partial musical (which normally I hate but I love this one). A flawed character cast. Halloween all year. Is there anything better? Especially when they end up together in the end.

Dr. Frankenstein and Inga

Young Frankenstein

Young Frankenstein is hilarious. And a wonderful classic. You have to love the mad scientist who falls in love with his servant love story. Right?

Ichabod and Katrina

Sleepy Hollow (the movie)

Not only does Ichabod fall in love with Katrina BUT he, you know, saves her life and all that.

Peter and Dana

Ghostbusters

Even Possession can’t stop this love story. Kind of.

Adam and Barbara

Beetlejuice

I love love love Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Beetle… well, you get the idea.

Sidney and Billy

Scream

Okay, Okay. I know that it’s messed up to list Sidney and the killer but REMEMBER, she thought she really loved him which is what made the betrayal that much better in the end.

Max and Allison

Hocus Pocus

“What do you call them Max? Yabbos?”

I’m pretty sure they’re my favorite horror couple ever because Hocus Pocus is my favorite movie ever. Yeah, I’m biased. Deal with it.

Edward and Kim

One of my favorite case of opposites attracting and star-crossed love.
